Moness Country Club, Scotland, U.K.

Location. Moness County Club is situated in Aberfeldy at the heart of Perthshire one of the most scenic counties in Scotland. It is just north of the 'Fair city' of Perth and circa 2hours by road from both Edinburgh (Scotland's historic capital) and Glasgow (Scotland’s largest city -- the venue for the 2014 Commonwealth games) in the south. Inverness, to the north, and even the Isle of Skye to the northwest are also within easy reach.

The resort. The Club is a pleasant, peaceful 'Gold Crown' resort constructed around a refurbished historic coaching inn. The leisure centre, including a swimming pool, provides a range of catering from takeaways to a fine restaurant.

Unit for sale. The unit for sale is Chaffinch, week 36 (early September with the heathers in bloom and the autumn colours beginning in the trees). Chaffinch is a two bed-roomed, sleep six, corner unit in a courtyard block built only circa 9 years ago adjacent to the leisure centre. The bedrooms (one en suite) are on the ground floor and upstairs is open plan with a spacious lounge, dining area, and kitchen. This floor has a double outlook with the main aspect a stunning view across a wooded duck pond area to the distant hills through two large double French windows.

Attractions. For those seeking a leisurely holiday there is the terrace bar, watching the local wildlife or perhaps a round of putting on the front lawn. Another option is one of the numerous pleasant local walks including the Birks of Aberfeldy (made famous by the poet Robert Burns) or a visit to the shops and galleries, in the village, in neighbouring Pitlochry, or at the upmarket House of Bruar Centre near the historic Blair Castle. A visit to the local distillery or the chocolatier at Grantully may be also of interest. There is a Club Cinema in Aberfeldy and, of course, the internationally recognised professional Theatre in Pitlochry.

For the historically minded there are numerous options, such as the nearby Menzies Castle, the Crannog at Loch Tay, the Cathedral and Beatrix Potter centre in Dunkeld, and the ancient yew tree at Fortingal.

For the active, this locale within Perthshire offers, a variety of outdoor activities; apart from walking, climbing and cycling, they include, a Highland safari adventure, white water rafting, boating and water sports on Loch Tay, golf, fishing and, in season, close access to skiing.
